Geophysical Surveys

Bathymetric Surveys

Bathymetric surveys involve measuring the terrain of lakes, dams, or ocean floors to determine the bed profile. We can prepare a model of the bed using a single-beam/ Multi-beam echo sounder in conjunction with a high-accurate GPS.

We have completed bathymetric surveys for:

Topographic Surveys

Surveyors use special DGPS receivers to measure the location and levels. This data is recorded electronically to an accuracy of +/-15 millimeters and downloaded directly into survey software at the office.
Ground surveying is possible in any weather conditions and at short notice and is more accurate than aerial surveying. Generally, results are also available sooner. If the area is very large then the ground survey can be time-consuming.

Sub-bottom Profile Survey

Acoustic seabed classification is the partitioning of a seabed acoustic image into discrete physical entities or classes. Seabed classification is one route to characterizing the seabed and its habitats. Seabed classification based on acoustic properties can be divided into two main categories; surficial seabed classification and sub-surface seabed classification. Acoustic seabed classification is possible using a wide range of acoustic imaging systems including echo sounders, side scan, echo sounders, interferometric systems, and sub-bottom profilers

Side Scan Sonar Survey

Side scan sonar is used when you want to image large areas of the seafloor quickly. it can provide an understanding of the differences in material and texture type of the seabed. Side-scan sonar imagery is also a commonly used tool to detect debris items and other obstructions on the seafloor that may be hazardous to shipping or seafloor installations by the oil and gas industry. In addition, the status of pipelines and cables on the seafloor can be investigated using side-scan sonar. Side-scan data are frequently acquired along with bathymetric soundings and sub-bottom profiler data.
